Fraudulent Asylum Claims

Many people who come to the US on a temporary visa find themselves wanting to stay in the US on a permanent basis. America has one of the world’s best economies, low unemployment rate, top universities, and more. Its no wonder people want to stay in this land of opportunity. There are many ways to legally live and stay in the United States, and one of those ways is by applying for and gaining asylum.
Any asylum attorney will tell you, filing for asylum can be a great opportunity, but can also lead to devastating consequences if the reasons for your applying are not legitimate. As an asylum attorney, I have seen my fair share of fraudulent cases. People claiming to have sufferance past persecution or fearing they will suffer future persecution.

A good asylum attorney will not just accept any and all asylum cases. An asylum attorney should ask the right questions and make sure that the case is a legitimate case. I personally take it one step further and make sure that not only is the case a legitimate case for gaining asylum, but also that the case is a strong case that has a very high chance of winning.

Asylum can be a very emotional rollercoaster ride and clients should only be put through that experience when they are likely to win their case. Any asylum lawyer will tell you that when a client loses his/her case, it is a very emotional and painful process. Once reason why clients cases should be examined under a microscope is because if the USCIS believes that the client is lying, they can punish the client by revoking their current visa, and banning them from re-entry of many years.

  1. Anybody can apply for asylum as long as the criteria is met. People who are granted asylum also enjoy many benefits including work authorization and eligibility for a green card asylum lawyer
